Deep Chandra Observations of the Star Cluster GLIMPSE-C01
Abstract
We present the X-ray analysis of a series of deep Chandra observations of the Galactic star cluster Glimpse-C0. The cluster is heavily obscured, with strong differential reddening with Av = 14-22, at a distance of ~3.3 kpc. We perform X-ray spectral analysis for sources with over 70 net counts. The investigation into the nature of these X-ray sources is supplemented with our existing multi-band data from the Hubble Space Telescope. We performed astrometric corrections of the data from both observatories to improve the matching compared to the earlier work. Our preliminary analysis indicates several highly variable sources, while also allowing us to probe the fainter X-ray source population of this cluster.
